Energy Efficiency

Lighting is responsible for more than 25% of energy consumption in commercial buildings across the United States. One reason why it continues to be a major contributor to operating costs is because many commercial buildings are still equipped with T12 light bulbs. Our Greenville, SC office was no different.

Recently an LED upgrade was performed in their office where the poor performing, dingy looking, 4-bulb fluorescent fixtures were replaced with crisp 2-bulb LED fixtures. The longer lasting LED bulbs will provide more light and use less wattage which means a substantial decrease in energy consumption. And for even more energy savings, the ballasts were removed from the fixture to direct-wire incoming voltage to the LED tubes.

As stated in ColonialWebb's Business Matters, "Lighting upgrades have been shown to improve productivity, boost profitability, and increase safety". It's amazing the difference new lights can make!
