Winter is Coming!!
Winterizing your plant is a great way to protect against future issues that will arise in the colder months!
Here are a list of ways to get you started preparing for this winter:
Check all waterlines with heat tape and heating cable.
If your drain lines for evaporators extend outside and their traps are outside, ensure the heat trace is working correctly.
Check all thermostats and make sure that the set points are correct.
If you have water cooled components in the compressor room (oil cooling), ensure their sources are not exposed to freezing conditions. IF they are, heat trace and insulate.
Check ventilation settings. Many compressor rooms are not heated and with the new ventilation requirements, ensure the temperature control is set properly. Also, ensure any water lines near the air intakes are properly protected from freezing.
Check your Evaporative Condensor Sump Heater and its thermostat for proper operation.
Check that the Glycol concentration is correct to avoid freezing.
