WORKING WITH HISTORY IN CVA

We are currently partnering with General Contractor, Team Henry to replace the main core and shell Mechanical and Plumbing systems within the the historical building, Central National Bank. During preconstruction we developed a unique safety and historical preservation plan that primarily focused on the work within the confined space above the vaulted lobby ceiling. This truly set us apart from our competition and was a key factor in procuring this phase of the project.

We are currently working on the procurement of the second phase of the project. This phase will consist of the conversion of existing lobby space into a modern kitchen and restaurant. NYC’s Robert Newton from the Nightingale Nine will open his first RVA venture within this historic downtown lobby. His new restaurant will be named the Central Mercantile.

Designed in the late 1920′s by world renowned architect John Eberson, the Central National Bank (CNB) Building is a steel-frame, limestone-clad skyscraper that serves as the only structure in Richmond designed in the art-deco style of architecture. As stated by the 1979 National Register nomination, the CNB building serves a compliment to “the successful efforts of Richmond merchants to establish a financial institution to their special needs.” This mixed-use development project will combine modern functionality with a historically preserved building. Comprised of a variety of different floor plans, the CNB Building intends to provide modern functionality and amenities to a historically rich and culturally significant area of the city of Richmond.

The Central National Bank Building is situated in the heart of the culturally rich Broad Street, offering unique access to all major attractions while remaining in close proximity to both major universities within city limits. Located in the central business district, the development is surrounded by historic landmarks, vibrant street-level retail, museums, galleries and office buildings.
