HAVING THE COURAGE TO CARE

The first quarter of 2017 has wrapped up and our IR Construction team has exceeded all expectations! We are continuing our 43-month streak with no recordable injuries and we are seeing more of our team members demonstrate the discipline and care we are looking for to be safety champions.

Just recently, a customer asked that we use a pickling paste to help passivate stainless duct work. When the product arrived on site, Billy Rhodes inspected the product safety data sheet and found

that the paste was extremely hazardous. Billy read that the product could be fatal if it came in contact with your skin, so he removed it from the job site and notified the project manager. Billy did a tremendous job identifying and removing a hazardous product.

If you are not familiar with a product, do not assume that it is safe to use. Read the safety data sheet and identify the hazards. If you are unsure about a product, please contact one of our safety professionals for guidance.

Thank you Billy Rhodes for having the courage to care and for being a true champion of safety!
